The event is endorsed by the Honorable Minister of Sport, Dr. M. Stofile.Joe Manyathi, Chairman of STA- TRADE Promotions says the medley of events starting in August will bring the entire world together.
The event promoter, Joe Manyathi, plans are to tie the boxing event to the Women’s Month of Celebration, and Laila Ali will fit into that category of women’s celebration.
This event is also designed to showcase South Africa and show the world that South Africa has made major progress since the Apartheid era, and exhibit the beauty that this country posses.

The theme of “IN HONOR OF A FIGHTER” is centered on Nelson Mandela’s achievements and his 88th birthday celebration but also highlights Women’s Month of Celebration. The whole experience is appealing to a broad cross-section of the South African culture and the glamour of the celebrities and dignitaries honored worldwide.

THE EVENT

" IN HONOR OF A FIGHTER” is a series of events including a musical concerts, a gala dinner and champagne brunch and world title championship boxing match featuring Laila Ali and Gwendollyn O’Neil. This event is a three day celebration in Capetown, South Africa endorsed by his Excellency REV Dr. MA Stofili, Minister of Sport.  It is a unique event that provides local, national and international marketing opportunities for sponsors.
